Volunteer Guardian Ad Litem Community Work
Sam Assini has been a volunteer Guardian ad Litem for over ten years. During that timeframe Sam has always had an active case, with multiple children assigned to some of his cases.
As a Guardian, Sam has been an outspoken and fervent advocator for children caught up in our foster care system. He also has been the "voice" for numerous children that were innocent victims of abuse, abandonment or neglect. Sam has testified in court as to the needs of these children's and expressed his recommendations as to what was in their best interests. Sam finds the responsibility awesome as well as challenging.
The time and energy expended representing each child's best interests has not only benefited these children, but, selfishly, was rewarding to him both spiritually and as a human being.
There are countless children in Florida who still need a "voice" in court. A number of cases proceed with no Guardian assigned as there are too many cases for the current number of Guardian volunteers. Please consider becoming a Guardian ad Litem. Are you up to the challenge? Do you want to make a positive difference in the life of a child currently in our foster care system?
It is an opportunity that you will not regret. Give a little of your time and reap the personal rewards and gratification that you have made a huge difference in the life of a foster child.
